PETITION: STOP THE CAZ
Imagine it. Running a small local business, working hard, and getting through a tough two years of Covid-19.
You’d expect Labour-run Salford Council to be on your side, wanting you to succeed - sadly, that isn’t the case.
Labour are introducing a stealth tax on sole traders and small businesses that could kill our area’s economy. The so-called ‘Clean Air Zone’ (CAZ) is just another name for a congestion charge, a tax on working people, designed by well-paid consultants but paid by all of us.
We’ve only got one chance to stop the CAZ. The charge is due to come into force on 30th May 2022, just a few weeks after the council elections. In the Ordsall Ward, only the Liberal Democrats can beat Labour.
TO THE MAYOR OF GREATER MANCHESTER: We, the undersigned, call on the UK Government and the GM Combined Authority to cancel the proposed Clean Air Zone due to come into force in May.
