Late Night Trams & A Better Service

Living in Salford Quays for many of us means a reliance on the tram.

If you are out working or enjoying yourself late at night, Greater Manchester Councils are giving us a curfew, expensive taxis or a risky walk home in the dark.  Even at current, the trams are under capacity and do not fit the current population.  The local population is set to double in the next 3 years.  We want to change this declining service.

We rely on this service, but this is daily strife for many of us.

So, the Salford Quays Liberal Democrats want to challenge the constant delays, cancellations and the early last service on the Labour run tram network.

Sign the petition today and demand better for our community!

To: Salford City Council & Mayor Andy Burnham

I, the undersigned, demand that Salford City Council acts to push the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (under the Leadership of GM Mayor Andy Burnham) to:

  • Provide a service that suits workers, residents and tourists by running the tram until 4am at weekends and until 2am during the week.
  • Get the service back to the standard timetable so people can plan their lives better.
  • Increase the number of trams on the line at peak times.
